SARRIGUREN CIVIC CENTER

A building with the highest urban, architectural and material quality, conceived from the optimization of natural resources to minimize the environmental impact during its construction and useful life. These are, undoubtedly, the main intentions of the “ECOFORUM” proposal. Beyond creating a functionally precise civic center, the proposal seeks to provide a landmark in the urban fabric, an innovative space of reference, which enriches the daily life of the city through the development of valuable activities for the citizens.

For this reason, the proposal begins with the various architectural operations necessary to achieve a totally diaphanous interior space. In this way, the building generates paths and visual connections with the environment that enrich the user’s experience. The most important aspect of the project is precisely this direct connection with the park, which is produced both from the perimeter circulation route and from the interior rooms of the cube. The second most relevant aspect of the proposal is to generate a double skin, an active thermal chamber, which in addition to optimizing the interior routes, favors an efficient climatic functioning of the building.

The building access is through the south-east side of the cube, facing the pedestrian walkway on Unión Europea Avenue. The cafeteria or senior center space occupies the first floor, merging with the park and opening onto the south-west side of the square thanks to the folding façade system. The following two floors house the classrooms and the multipurpose room. Both spaces are completely open-plan and square in shape, guaranteeing maximum flexibility of use. The entire program area is developed on three floors, allowing a fourth space on the roof of the building to be used for outdoor activities.

CENTRO CIVICO SARRIGUREN

Un edificio de altísima calidad urbana, arquitectónica y material, concebido desde la optimización de los recursos naturales para minimizar el impacto ambiental durante su construcción y vida útil. Esta es, sin duda, la principal intención de la propuesta “ECOFORUM”. Por encima de crear un centro cívico funcional- mente preciso, la propuesta busca aportar un hito en el tejido urbano, un espacio innovador de referencia, que enriquezca la vida diaria de la urbe a través del desarrollo de actividades de valor para la ciudadanía.

Por esta razón, la propuesta comienza desde las diversas operaciones arquitectónicas necesarias para conseguir un espacio interior totalmente diáfano. De este modo, el edificio es capaz de generar recorridos y conexiones visuales con el entorno que enriquecen la experiencia del usuario. La apuesta más importante del proyecto es precisamente esa conexión directa con el parque que se produce tanto desde el recorrido perimetral de circulación, como desde las estancias interiores del cubo. El segundo aspecto más relevante de la propuesta, consiste en generar una doble piel, una cámara térmica activa, que además de optimizar los recorridos interiores, favorece un funcionamiento climático eficiente del edificio.

El acceso al edificio se produce a través de la cara sureste del cubo, frente al paso de peatones de la calle Avenida de la Unión Europea. El espacio de cafetería o centro de mayores ocupa la planta baja, fundiéndose con el parque y abriéndose hacia la zona suroeste de la plaza gracias al sistema abatible de fachada. En las dos plantas siguientes se ubican las aulas y la sala polivalente. Ambos espacios son completamente diáfanos y tienen una forma cuadrada, garantizando la máxima flexibilidad de uso. Toda la superficie programática se desarrolla en tres plantas, permitiendo habilitar un cuarto espacio en la cubierta del edificio para el desarrollo de actividades al aire libre.
